Job Summary

Since 1943 N.R. Murphy Ltd prides itself on being a people-oriented company focused on designing and manufacturing the highest quality of air pollution control equipment. N.R. Murphy is currently looking to hire a general labourer as a part of its fabrication division. In this position, the successful applicant will work alongside the fabrication team to assist in various production and labour tasks.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Assist with preparing units for painting including installing hardware, caulking, installing filter bags, and cleaning the equipment.
  • Assist with shipping and receiving, including material handling, racking steel, and utilizing overhead cranes and forklifts (willing to train).
  • Assist the fabrication department through a variety of tasks.
  • Assist in maintaining a clean and safe work environment.
  • Other general labourer duties as required.

Qualifications

  • Punctuality must be on time for shift and be consistent with attendance.
  • Able to stand regularly and lift or move up to 50 lbs.
  • Physical stamina.
  • Ability to read and use tape measure.
  • Ability to use hand tools (such as hammer, screw drivers, wrenches, etc).
  • Ability to work in a safe manner.
  • Ability to follow written and oral directions.
  • Experience with grinders, forklifts, cranes, hoists, shears, saws, iron workers, welders, plasma cutters or brake press is an asset.
  • Knowledge or experience with Dust Collection is an asset.
  • Willing to use a 10-ton Forklift, and ladders. Must be comfortable with heights. Must be comfortable with confined spaces.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: $19.00-$23.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
