Job Summary

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Spanish Speaking Home Support Worker to provide in-home care and assistance to clients with diverse needs. The ideal candidate will be fluent in Spanish and possess a strong background in senior care, disability support, or home health services. This role involves delivering personalized care, ensuring safety, and promoting independence for clients in their homes. The position offers an opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of individuals requiring assistance with daily activities and health management.

Duties

  • Assist clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support
  • Prepare nutritious meals tailored to dietary needs and preferences
  • Administer medications following care plans and HIPAA guidelines
  • Monitor vital signs and observe patient conditions to detect changes or concerns
  • Support clients with memory care, dementia, Alzheimer's, or developmental disabilities through personalized engagement and safety measures
  • Operate assistive devices such as Hoyer lifts and ensure proper use for safe transfers
  • Maintain cleanliness of the home environment through light cleaning tasks
  • Document care activities accurately and communicate updates to healthcare teams or family members
  • Follow prescribed care plans and coordinate with healthcare professionals as needed
  • Provide emotional support and companionship to promote mental well-being

Experience

  • Prior experience in assisted living, home health, hospice, or long-term care is highly preferred
  • Experience working with individuals with disabilities, autism, dementia, or memory care needs is advantageous
  • Knowledge of patient monitoring, vital signs measurement, medication administration, and safety protocols such as CPR and first aid is essential
  • Background in group homes or nursing homes is beneficial
  • Familiarity with HIPAA regulations and confidentiality requirements in healthcare settings is necessary
  • Experience assisting with ADLs, meal preparation, and resident care planning is desirable
  • Prior caregiving experience working with seniors or individuals with developmental disabilities will be considered a strong asset

This role requires patience, cultural sensitivity, excellent communication skills in Spanish, and a genuine desire to support individuals in maintaining their independence. The ideal candidate will be committed to providing high-quality home support that enhances clients' quality of life while adhering to safety standards.
