Delivery Material Handler (Class 3Q or Class 1)





 

CLASS 3Q DELIVERY MATERIAL HANDLERS

CLASS 1 DELIVERY MATERIAL HANDLERS


(Full-time, permanent) 


Delivery Material Handlers work in teams and are responsible for the safe and efficient delivery, unloading and placement of building materials onto customer sites including residential, commercial and industrial building construction sites in Red Deer and surrounding areas.  


DUTIES


  • Delivery, unloading and placement of building materials in a timely and safe
    manner, while adhering to assigned route and schedule
  • Operate remote controlled picker cranes, rough terrain forklifts and conveyers
  • Drive 4/5 axle trucks with tridem pup trailers to jobsites ( up to 8 axles) - depending on license classification
  • Hoist building materials 
  • Provide exceptional customer service
  • Perform pre and post trip safety inspections
  • Maintain interior cleanliness of assigned unit
  • Complete required paperwork
  • Report exterior damage or mechanical deficiencies as soon as noted
  • Comply with provincial laws, regulations, OHS and company policies and procedures

REQUIREMENTS

  • Valid driver's license and satisfactory driver's abstract (no more than 2 minor violations)
  • Previous experience driving delivery trucks and operating other machinery
  • Ability to work at heights (residential rooftop deliveries)
  • General labourer experience
  • Ability to lift up to 75 lbs repeatedly and for extended periods of time
  • Ability to walk on uneven surfaces, carry, and lift heavy, bulky items
  • Ability to work in all weather conditions
  • Must successfully pass pre-employment drug and alcohol test
  • Must provide a satisfactory criminal record check
