About the Position

UIS is seeking a
full-time Vietnamese Student Counsellor
to support Vietnamese students throughout their academic journey at UIS. The successful candidate will work closely with internal departments and external partners in Vietnam to support student recruitment, admissions coordination, and ongoing student services.

This role is well-suited for a recent graduate or early-career professional who is interested in international education, student services, and cross-cultural communication.

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Respond to inquiries from students, parents, and educational agencies via email, phone, and in person in a timely and professional manner.
  • Support recruitment activities by liaising with partner agencies and parents in Vietnam through the UIS Vietnam Office and assisting with enrollment-related communications.
  • Assist with Vietnamese student admissions processes, including invoicing, school letters, and student documentation.
  • Coordinate with the Academic Department to support individualized study plans for Vietnamese Students.
  • Coordinate with the Housing Department regarding Vietnamese student accommodation arrangements.
  • Assist in the preparation and translation of marketing and informational materials in Vietnamese, when required.
  • Provide orientation and transition support to new Vietnamese students to help them adapt to the school environment.
  • Maintain regular communication with current students to support their academic and social well-being.
  • Assist the Guidance Department with enrollment processes, course scheduling, orientation sessions, and student record organization (e.g., Ontario Student Record).
  • Maintain a working knowledge of the Ontario Curriculum, including OUAC and OCAS systems.
  • Participate in and support school events and activities, including orientations, information sessions, and student engagement events, as required.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned by senior management.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Fluency in Vietnamese and English (spoken and written).
  • Experience or strong interest in the education sector (high school, post-secondary, ESL, or international education).
  • A post-secondary degree in education, languages, marketing, or a related field.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Solid administrative and organizational abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Experience supporting student services, recruitment, or engagement activities is an asset.
  • Recent graduates are welcome to apply.
