26-004i - Parks Maintenance Worker (Full Time, Time Stated)

This is semi-skilled parks maintenance work that provides general labouring duties in the maintenance of parks systems, facilities, buildings and grounds. The work involves physical effort and agility of a repetitive nature. The incumbent exercises some independence of action and judgement in day-to-day functions and refers unusual problems or policy matters to their supervisor. This position operates under the direction of a supervisor who checks work upon completion for quality and adherence to established work standards. Instruction is given through oral and written means.
The Training Manual Requirements pre-qualifications for this position are:
- Six (6) months of related experience
OR
- Successful completion of a certificate program at a recognized educational institute in horticulture or parks related program
The Class Specification requires a Driver's License for the Province of British Columbia – Class 5 and is a job requirement.
