Aboriginal Wellness Coordinator

Summary: The Aboriginal Wellness Coordinator (AWC) provides outreach services that supports the interests, needs and rights of Aboriginal children and youth to access quality services. In accordance with the vision and values of the Kanuk'wa7staliha Family Services (KFS) program. The AWC works as part of an interdisciplinary support services network in the Northern St'at'imc Territory with accountability to Kanuk'wa7staliha Family Services. The AWC also provides mental health services to children, youth, and their families with severe mental disorders and social, emotional, and/or behavioral disorders.
Qualifications & Experience:
- A Bachelor of Social Work or Child Youth Mental Health Certificates, or a related degree.
- A minimum of two (2) years related experience.
- Knowledge and understanding of St'át'imc culture.
- Must be willing to submit to and clear a Vulnerable Sector Criminal Record Check.
- Must have a valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Support KFS Aboriginal Child and Youth Mental Health (CYMH) Clinician as well as the children, youth, and their families.
- Develop treatment plans, conduct screening and intake activities.
- Provide after-care and follow-up services as requested by the clinician
- Strong conflict resolution skills.
- Strong writing and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to use tact and good judgment in dealing with sensitive and complex issues.
- Excellent leadership and crisis intervention skills.
Compensation: $25.00-$27.00 per hour
