JOB OVERVIEW:

This position is primarily responsible for addressing electrical/mechanical issues within the warehouse environment of a grocery store chain.

This position is being offered strictly on a subcontractor basis. Interested applicants must operate as independent subcontractors and will be responsible for their own taxes, insurance and compliance with applicable laws.

The electrician will work independently to solve problems, suggest improvements, and ensure the efficiency of MHE electrical systems, while collaborating with various teams at the location and suppliers to report findings and resolve issues.

As the sole electrician, this role holds full accountabilities for all MHE electrical/mechanical matters within the warehouse site, without the need for travel to retail grocery stores.

Key competencies such as problem-solving, effective communication, and a strong commitment to health and safety are essential for success in this position.

WORKING HOURS: For this role are Monday to Friday | 12 (NOON) to 9 PM

JOB KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND CREDENTIALS:

  • Licensed electrician in Ontario, Canada – 309A or 442A
  • Up to five years of job-related experience in electrical maintenance and troubleshooting within a warehouse or distribution center environment working with mechanical MHE equipment.
  • Strong problem-solving skills to effectively diagnose and resolve electrical/mechanical issues.
  • Excellent communication skills to collaborate with various teams, report findings, and ensure adherence to health and safety standards.
  • Ability to work independently as the sole electrician, demonstrating accountability for all electrical issues and enhancements within the distribution center.
  • Familiarity with the grocery retail industry and the specific electrical needs of a distribution center environment.

Experience:

  • electrical maintenance and troubleshooting: 2 years (preferred)

Licence/Certification:

  • 309A or 442A license as an electrician in Ontario, Canada (preferred)
