Job Overview

We are seeking a passionate and experienced Fly/Spey Fishing Guide to lead and educate clients on the art of fly and spey fishing. This role involves providing exceptional outdoor experiences, ensuring safety, and fostering a love for fishing in both novice and seasoned anglers. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership, communication, and teaching skills, along with a deep knowledge of fishing techniques and local waterways. Multilingual or bilingual abilities are highly valued to enhance guest interactions and broaden our client reach.

Duties

  • Lead guided fishing trips on designated waterways, ensuring safety and enjoyment for all participants
  • Educate clients on fly and spey fishing techniques, equipment use, and local fish species
  • Provide personalized coaching to improve clients' skills regardless of their experience level
  • Maintain fishing gear, boats, and safety equipment to ensure optimal condition
  • Share knowledge about local ecology, conservation efforts, and fishing regulations
  • Manage group dynamics effectively while maintaining a friendly and professional demeanor
  • Assist in planning trip logistics, including scheduling, route selection, and client accommodations
  • Foster a welcoming environment that encourages learning, fun, and respect for nature

Experience

  • Proven experience as a fly or spey fishing guide or in a similar outdoor guiding role
  • Strong public speaking skills with the ability to teach and communicate complex techniques clearly
  • Excellent customer service skills to ensure memorable experiences for clients of diverse backgrounds
  • Demonstrated leadership abilities with the capacity to manage groups efficiently
  • Effective time management skills to coordinate multiple trips or sessions smoothly
  • Multilingual or bilingual proficiency is preferred to assist a broader range of clients
  • Knowledge of local waterways, fish species, conservation practices, and fishing regulations is essential
  • Prior experience in outdoor education or teaching is advantageous

This position offers an exciting opportunity to share your passion for fly and spey fishing while guiding clients through unforgettable outdoor adventures.

Contract length: 12 weeks

Pay: $275.00-$320.00 per day
