Job Summary

The Jr IT Technician is responsible for all things IT. Assisting with the stable operation of our organization's network infrastructure, software, and hardware. This includes planning, developing, installing, configuring, maintaining, and optimizing network hardware, software, and communication links. This role also involves troubleshooting network issues, hardware issues, and supporting BIL staff and customers. There is the opportunity to transition into a specialized role once settled into this position.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Install, configure, and manage software for internal and external systems.
  • Maintaining and monitoring physical servers.
  • Troubleshoot IT-related issues and provide technical support to customers and staff.
  • Assist in the setup of Surveillance servers and workstations.
  • Document network configurations, policies, and procedures.
  • Collaborate with customer IT teams to support infrastructure projects.
  • Provide after hours and on call support as required. *

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in an information technology related field.
  • Relevant certifications (Fortinet NSE, CCNA, CompTIA Network+, etc.) are a plus.
  • 2+ Years of hands-on IT or related experience.
  • In depth knowledge and understanding of networking protocols (TCP/UDP, IP, DHCP, VPN, etc.).
  • In depth knowledge and understanding of computer hardware.
  • Strong knowledge of cybersecurity principles and best practices.
  • Problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Ability to communicate technical concepts to non-technical users.

* Because we operate 24hrs, 7 days a week, there may be times where overtime or after-hours work is required. All on-call and after hours requirements are on an emergency-only basis, and are compensated appropriately.
