Avenir IT Inc is currently looking for a Tier III (Level 3) IT Technician. The Tier III technician is responsible for providing senior level technical assistance. They are able to troubleshoot and resolve the most difficult and complex networking, infrastructure and server issues; diagnosing and isolating the problem and implementing solutions. They will have the ability to analyze existing systems and procedures and make proactive recommendations for improvements and best practices. The Tier III is additionally responsible to assist with technical escalations that stretch beyond the teams Tier II scope of support.

**Responsibilities**:
This is a front-line customer facing role that requires solid communications skills, expert troubleshooting & technical abilities. The position has many responsibilities that include but are not limited to the following:

- Systems Architecture - Work directly with Team to help architect major infrastructure & system upgrade projects for our clients
- Project Lead Engineer - Perform project installations & implementations as a hands-on engineer and be directly responsible for the complete life cycle of the project from inception to client hand off
- R&D - Work directly with Team to research, test and evaluate new products & technologies.
- Receive and respond to escalations, remediating the most complex IT problems no other technician can solve.

Must be able to support the following software, hardware & technologies:

- Minimum of 5 years in a systems administrator or similar role supporting M365, Google Workspace and Apple
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in a direct customer facing role
- Minimum of 2 years of experience and knowledge of datacenters, virtualization technologies, Microsoft technology stack, modern server operating systems and hardware
- In depth knowledge of supporting Microsoft, Apple and Android systems on-prem and/or in the Cloud
- Microsoft 365 management and administration: Microsoft SharePoint, OneDrive & Teams, Intune/AutoPilot, Exchange, Azure AD
- Google Workspace management and administration
- Systems experience: MS Active Directory, Exchange, SQL databases, Remote Desktop Services, VMware/vCenter, group policy management
- Networking experience: Meraki, Ubiquiti, Cisco, firewall (FortiGate and SonicWall), TCP/IP protocol, IP addressing, VPN, networking design, SSL certificates, DNS, DHCP, VOIP & cloud-based phones
- Infrastructure and backup monitoring tools such as Veeam, Liongard, Datto, Auvik, Ninja etc.
- Modern security experience (SSO/MFA, Zero Trust, SASE, CASB, EDR, SEIM, AV, etc.)
- Solid understanding of complex IP networks
- Strong interpersonal skills, including written and verbal communication, time management, project management, and conflict resolution
- Strong work ethic, attention to detail, and drive to be successful
- Ability to work independently, but also provide mentorship to L1 & L2 Technicians.
- Minimum five years relevant IT experience fully supporting and building SMB environments.
- Must live in or be able to commute to the Winnipeg area. Not a remote WFH position.
- Must have access to a reliable vehicle.
