We are currently looking to for an Accounts Receivable Administrator to work in our Lantz or Dartmouth Location. Reporting to the General Manager the successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Monitor and collect on outstanding accounts and be responsible for the maintenance of follow-up lists and tracking
  • Liaise with Controller and General Manager regarding status, history and activity related to A/R performance.
  • Processing, posting and reconciling customer payments.
  • Ensuring the strict confidentiality and privacy of financial records as they relate to the company and its customers.
  • Creating collection strategies to mitigate customer objections.
  • Investigating collection problems and communicating payment expectations with customers.
  • Making arrangements for payment of outstanding and late accounts; escalating delinquent accounts to outside collection agency as necessary.
  • Resolving billing discrepancies or misapplied cash transactions.
  • Reviewing credit applications and making recommendations.
  • Ensuring credit policies and procedures are followed according to established guidelines.
  • Recommending modification to credit policy and procedures.
  • Maintaining strong working knowledge of applicable regulations, legislation and compliance issues, and changes made.
  • Other duties as required.

Qualifications for this position include:

  • Post-secondary education or equivalent experience in accounts receivable (3 years).
  • Solid understanding of accounting principles.
  • Credit Experience required
  • Exceptional with attention to detail, time management and organizational skills.
  • ·Strong communicator with proven results in accounts receivable.
  • Strong proficiency with Accounting Software, adaptable and quick to learn new systems.
  • Confidence in balancing assertive communication with a customer focused attitude.
