We currently have a fantastic opportunity for a Procurement Agent to join our growing team in Ottawa. Within this position, you will be giving the opportunity to work on one of Ottawa's most interesting projects in recent times. The mission of the Procurement Agent is to support purchasing activities for the site level teams to ensure they are carried out efficiently, cost-effectively and within established timelines. The ideal candidate for this role will be a strategic individual with strong relationship-building and negotiation skills.

OVERVIEW OF RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Source and purchase materials for our field foremen
  • Review, maintain, and issue required purchase orders to preferred vendors
  • Develop and maintain relationships with suppliers
  • Review, maintain, and recommend appropriate levels of inventoried materials and consumables
  • Schedule and expedite material deliveries as required
  • Detailed review of vendor invoices against orders placed to ensure accuracy and resolve exceptions
  • Execute material return procedures and ensure credits are obtained from suppliers
  • Maintain purchase order records in an organized process

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

  • 3+ years of purchasing/procurement experience, ideally within the Construction and Mechanical industry
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain strong relationships with wholesalers, suppliers, and vendors, ensuring top-notch customer service.
  • Knowledge of mechanical systems and construction industry experience is preferred
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint)
  • Effective communicator with the ability to develop and sustain productive working relationships with employees, suppliers and other stakeholders at all levels
  • Resourceful, problem-solver able to manage multiple priorities
  • Must be eligible for a reliability security clearance
