Duties

  • Operate snow plow trucks and related equipment efficiently to clear snow and ice from designated roadways, parking lots, and walkways.
  • Perform routine inspections of plow equipment before and after shifts to ensure proper functioning.
  • Conduct basic maintenance on plow trucks, including checking fluid levels, replacing worn parts, and troubleshooting mechanical issues.
  • Assist with the setup and removal of snow barriers or other temporary safety measures as needed.
  • Coordinate with team members to prioritize routes and ensure timely snow removal during severe weather conditions.
  • Maintain accurate logs of work completed, equipment used, and any issues encountered during shifts.
  • Follow all safety protocols and procedures to prevent accidents or injuries while operating machinery.

Skills

  • Proven experience operating snow plow trucks or similar heavy machinery such as excavators or construction equipment.
  • Mechanical knowledge related to vehicle maintenance, hydraulic systems, and power tools.
  • Familiarity with landscaping, irrigation, gardening, horticulture, or general landscape maintenance is a plus.
  • Ability to use hand tools and power tools for minor repairs or adjustments on equipment.
  • Strong understanding of safety standards related to construction, maintenance, and outdoor operations.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot mechanical issues efficiently.
  • Physical stamina for working outdoors in cold weather conditions for extended periods.
  • Knowledge of construction or landscape maintenance practices is advantageous but not required. This position requires a dedicated individual capable of handling physically demanding tasks while maintaining high safety standards. Candidates should be prepared for outdoor work in winter conditions and possess the necessary skills to operate heavy machinery effectively.

Job Types: Part-time, Fixed term contract, Seasonal

Pay: $18.00-$22.00 per hour

Expected hours: 10 per week
