Job Overview

We have a great opportunity for a reliable and customer service-focused individual to join our Building Maintenance team in creating safe and welcoming environments for our clients and their customers. Reporting to the Regional Account Manager, this role assists in inspecting and supervising daily interior maintenance and repair services at assigned locations. This position is responsible for inspections and maintenance at designated customer locations, ensuring that all sites and work performed is in keeping with SDA Building Services Inc.'s high standards of performance.Additionally, Junior Account Managers will assist in the administration processes as well as contributing to business development.

Key Results and Activities

1. Inspections

  • Conduct formal inspections at all designated customer locations as per the assigned schedule
  • Complete the Workplace Inspection Checklist for each inspection
  • Provide a copy of the inspection checklist to the Account Manager
  • Take corrective action to address hazards identified and ensure all issues are resolved immediately
  • Assess Technician's monthly site inspection reports and comment on quality of inspection and work performed
  • Review the Technician's site inspection reports with the Account Manager
  • Ensure appropriate corrective actions are taken. Initialize and date the Inspection Report and file in the job file

2. Administrative/Business Development Duties

  • Following responsibilities to be conducted with the guidance of the Account Manager
  • Establishes and maintains strong working relationships with customers, vendors, and team members
  • Understands customer expectations and vendor performance to ensure vendors meet/exceed contract fulfillment and customer expectations
  • Reconciles materials and labour costs to ensure accurate invoicing
  • Identifies additional service opportunities to increase revenue
  • Prepares and submits quotes for requests above or outside established criteria
  • Confirms the maintenance and repair scope of work for each request as well as the priority level
  • Assigns work orders to technicians based on site proximity, availability, and skill strengths and to meet customer requirements
  • Conducts spot-check site visits to review and guarantee the consistency of service delivery standards
  • Responds to customer queries and concerns promptly
  • Resolves customer complaints by investigating problems, creating action plans for the resolution of complaints, bringing them to the attention of management, and following up in a timely way
  • Identifies ways to continuously meet and/or exceed SDA service standards

3. Maintenance / Renovation Work

  • Assist Account Manager with estimation on new projects
  • Obtain pricing estimates from suppliers
  • Assist with all maintenance, project or renovation assignments

4. Follow SDA Building Services Inc.'s Health and Safety Policies and Procedures

  • Fulfills the manager's responsibilities to ensure a healthy and safe workplace
  • Ensures all team members follow their responsibilities of the SDA Building Services Inc.'s Health & Safety Policies and Practices, including:
  • Using, wearing, and maintaining all personal protective equipment and clothing required
  • Reporting any potential or actual danger, hazard or infraction to their supervisor as soon as possible
  • Reporting all incidents, accidents, workplace injuries or illnesses to their supervisor immediately
  • Using all tools and equipment in a safe manner
  • Following SDA company vehicle policies and procedures and SDA cellphone use policies and procedures

5. Keep company vehicle clean and well maintained at all times

6. Perform other duties as assigned by management

Academic Qualifications and Experience

  • High school education or equivalent work experience
  • 2 years maintenance experience

Specialized Knowledge, Skills and Attributes Required

  • Solid ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Thorough knowledge of occupational hazards and safety rules and regulations
  • Basic computer knowledge of Microsoft Outlook and Excel
  • Valid Ontario driver's license and clear drivers abstract

Effort

  • Ability to work evenings or weekend emergencies as required

Working Conditions

  • Travel offsite to customer locations
