Corner's Pride Farms is a large Agriculture Business located in the scenic Fraser Valley of British Columbia. Our business involves milk production, custom cattle raising, and cropping in the Fraser Valley, Merritt, and Southern Alberta. We take pride in producing high quality milk for our communities. We are looking for someone to join our team as an Agriculture Equipment Mechanic. A big part of our business is the equipment that it takes to make the business run smoothly and efficiently. We require someone with comprehensive knowledge of mechanical systems to help us repair and maintain this equipment, which is so vital to our success. We have a large fleet of tractors, pick up trucks, highway trucks, feeding equipment, tillage, and harvesting equipment to name a few.
The Position:
The successful candidate will be responsible for regular maintenance of our fleet equipment as well as diagnosing and visually inspecting equipment for repairs as needed and completing those repairs to the highest quality standards. A big part of the job is preventative maintenance. You will need to be proactive and identify potential issues rather than being reactive. We require equipment to be in good operating and ready to use condition at all times.
In addition to these duties, you will be responsible for the following:
- Maintain and repair agriculture equipment and machinery, barn equipment, and trucks
- Perform scheduled maintenance and minor repairs on agriculture equipment such as trucks, tractors, trailers, and farm implements such as tillage and harvesting equipment
- Deal quickly and efficiently with maintenance calls from various departments as they arise
Qualifications:
To be considered for this critical role, you will need to demonstrate the following skills and attributes:
- At least 2 years' experience performing mechanical maintenance work involving various pieces of equipment and vehicles
- Some experience with agricultural equipment is considered an asset but is not required
- Experience with electrical components on equipment and vehicles
- Mechanically inclined with diagnostic and repair experience on tractors and trucks
- Previous experience with welding
- High level of mechanical aptitude
- Detail orientated while being able to quickly pivot to different projects as required
- Consistently able to complete paperwork – diligent about record keeping
- Exceptional work ethic
- Observant and focused on preventative maintenance in order to minimize major repairs
