Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated Meat Clerk / Wrapper to join our team in providing exceptional service and quality products to our customers. This role involves preparing, wrapping, and selling meat products while maintaining high standards of food safety and sanitation. The ideal candidate will have experience in food handling, customer service, and retail operations within the food industry. This position offers an opportunity to work in a fast-paced environment where attention to detail and excellent interpersonal skills are essential.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and wrap meat products accurately according to customer specifications and safety standards
  • Assist customers with selections, provide product information, and offer upselling opportunities to enhance sales
  • Operate POS systems such as Aloha POS and Micros POS for transactions including cash handling and credit card processing
  • Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of work areas, including proper storage of meat products
  • Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and sanitation procedures at all times
  • Manage inventory levels, restock display cases, and rotate stock appropriately
  • Provide excellent customer service by addressing inquiries, offering recommendations, and ensuring a positive shopping experience
  • Assist with food preparation tasks in the deli or meat department as needed
  • Follow all health and safety guidelines related to food handling, sanitation, and workplace safety

Skills

  • Experience in food preparation, food handling, or working in a grocery store or restaurant environment
  • Familiarity with POS systems such as Aloha POS or Micros POS for cashiering and sales transactions
  • Strong customer service skills with the ability to upsell products effectively
  • Knowledge of food safety standards, sanitation procedures, and proper meat handling techniques
  • Ability to manage time efficiently in a fast-paced retail setting
  • Basic math skills for cash handling, retail math, and measuring ingredients or portions
  • Experience with quick service or fast food restaurant operations is a plus
  • Excellent communication skills and a friendly demeanor to assist customers effectively
  • Ability to work independently or as part of a team in a retail or grocery store environment

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: From $15.00 per hour

Expected hours: 8 – 20 per week
