Toronto, Ontario, Canada 4GLOBAL Limited Full time

Product Manager

Introduction

4GLOBAL is a data, services and software company that partners with governments, cities, operators and sports bodies to maximise return on investment in sport and physical activity programmes. Our strength lies in leveraging proprietary data, technology and strategic expertise to help clients boost participation and deliver measurable health, social and economic outcomes.

We operate through two core business units:

  • Sport Bodies: Supporting international, national and regional federations to develop strategy, assess impact and strengthen governance and performance.
  • Operators: Partnering with leisure operators, local authorities and delivery providers to grow participation and improve outcomes through data-led decisions.

Our clients include governments, cities, and sporting federations all committed to tackling inactivity and increasing participation. Within the region, our current partners include Canadian Tire Jumpstart, Canadian Olympic Committee, Future of Hockey Lab, U.S. Soccer, and the Aspen Institute.

Our vision is to create a world where data-driven decision-making transforms how communities engage with sport and activity, guiding more targeted investment and driving improved population health.

To support this, we've built a software platform that hosts one of the world's largest curated activity datasets, powering many of our insights and recommendations.

Our work includes:

  • Advising on how physical activity can drive social and economic change
  • Designing and evaluating strategies and interventions that activate people and places
  • Helping clients embed digital transformation and system-wide improvement
  • Providing SaaS tools that integrate data from leisure systems, wearables, healthcare, and community programmes

This enables clients to:

  • Predict outcomes of sport and physical activity investments
  • Benchmark the impact of new initiatives
  • Analyse behaviours and participation trends
  • Target groups to maximise programme reach and impact
  • Set data-driven standards for decision making
  • Identify key drivers of participation locally and nationally

We support clients worldwide, with offices in London, Miami, and Toronto. Our international footprint brings global perspective to local challenges.

As we expand across Europe and North America, some flexibility may be required to collaborate across time zones.

·      Define, prioritize, and oversee the delivery of configurable modules and custom insight dashboards within 4GLOBAL's InsightOS platform ensuring alignment with each client's specific business needs.

·      Scope, plan, and oversee data integrations with internal and external systems, working with Engineering and Data teams to ensure integrations are aligned with product objectives, technical feasibility, and long-term platform strategy.

·      Own the creation of business and functional requirements, translating complex client needs into clear user stories, product specifications, and sprint-ready Jira tickets.

·      Play a key role in backlog refinement and sprint planning by providing clear commercial rationale and prioritization input to the Engineering team.

·      Work hand-in-hand with Engineering, Data, and Delivery to execute sprints on time and to the required quality.

·      Lead customer and stakeholder discovery to confirm problems and opportunities and turn insight into clear decisions.

·      Plan and coordinate releases including betas and UAT, publish release notes, and prepare internal teams ahead of launch.

·      Manage product risks and dependencies early, including performance, data quality, compliance, and operational readiness.

·      Monitor product usage and performance with the Data team and use the insights to prioritize improvements.

Essential

·      Knowledge of the sport, health or public sector landscapes. Familiarity with sport participation data, facility networks, national initiatives, funding models, etc.
