Air-tek is a Canadian-based software company with a powerful suite of unique product that have already achieved a significant share of a huge global market. The product market fit is excellent, and customers are lining up to buy. Although our global customers know us, we intentionally operate in stealth mode during this growth phase.
Our diverse team shares a collective passion for solving complex problems with a drive to innovate and a desire to create the passenger-centric travel industry. Based in Toronto, our inclusive culture is built on trust, collaboration, delivering a grate product, and continuous personal development. We love what we do, and we support the team around us.
Reporting to the Head of Product Innovation, the Group Product Manager leads a talented team of professionals to evangelize and execute the strategy, design, development, and delivery of our company's products. Working closely with a full spectrum of stakeholders to deliver exceptional product value, from ideation to execution, you will be responsible for leading the charge on ensuring that we are solving the right problems, in the most effective way, for our airline customers and their millions of passengers. Managing some of our most critical and complex products, tools and workflows, you will use a full toolkit of PM skills. From early-stage discovery and ideation, through iterative UI/UX design and acceptance criteria authoring, and all the way to execution support, internal training and go-to-market readiness – you are truly a top-to-bottom, end-to-end owner. And, of course, that includes a wisely curated and collaboratively established roadmap that ensures customer elation and company success. Critical to being successful in this role is experience and strength working in a high-velocity environment, juggling a lot of balls across a lot of different stakeholders, all while analyzing and breaking down complex problems to deliver elegant enterprise solutions. You embrace and enact agile practices, but you understand how to lend those fundamental principles to thorough planning, management, and committed delivery. Being a unique market leader in our space, we need you to bring an exceptional balance between (a) passion for exploration and feedback/data gathering and (b) the intuition, confidence, and sharp creativity required to take information that people somewhat already have and convert it into experiences that nobody has ever seen. Who You Are and What You'll Do
- Lead, develop, and empower a talented team of product professionals to create value entrepreneurially
- You've thrived well beyond business cases, research and MVP – you have worked with mature products, actively managing and delivering their backlog, growth, and stability
- You'll leverage insights from our industry experts and customer feedback to capture and distill product opportunities, and then apply your intelligence and expertise in problem solving to deliver innovative solutions
- You'll work closely with Product Designers to ensure that you're not just fixing problems, but also delivering a consistent, intuitive, world-class user experience
- You'll Manage your product domain and its roadmap through strategic planning and an execution-oriented backlog constantly prioritizing, discovering, documenting and delivering
- You'll consistently author exceptional communication artifacts; some that will enable Engineers and QA to create, and others that will enable stakeholders from all other departments to learn, support, approve, and promote
- You'll be tight with Engineering, constantly collaborating with them on all elements of the what and the when
- You'll always be thinking about scale and impact – you're never just solving a small, isolated problem for right now, but rather broad, integrated problems that establish the future
- You'll support agile ceremonies to ensure that work is properly scoped, defined, planned, committed, and released
- Alongside Release Management and Engineering leads, you'll be the quarterback for all things needed to ensure successful release; monitor initiative timelines, manage risks, set priorities, gather estimates, track customer commitments and expectations, and proactively communicate product updates to internal/external stakeholders to share status and progress
- You'll monitor and measure product feedback and distill your insights and learnings back into the product development process
- You'll constantly be providing leadership with intelligent insights and thoughtful guidance on how processes and practices can be optimized within the organization so that the Product team, and R&D as a whole, is best positioned to execute nothing short of excellence
- You're a self-starter and you get things done. You're a stellar executor with the ability to manage projects across stakeholders in a very timely manner. Unquestioned integrity with a 'Can-Do' attitude
- You're flexible in doing whatever is necessary to get results, but never at the expense of sensible, transparent, scalable process
- You're an excellent communicator, able to influence people outside of your areas of direct responsibility, driving results and changes in a highly collaborative organization
- You're detail-oriented, extremely organized, and you get a high from getting things done
- You get technology – you have a natural ability to understand complexity, you grasp things at the conceptual and the tactical levels, and you have a passion for problem-solving
- You love our customer, and you want their experience with our product to be perfect
- 10+ years of Product Management, 5+ years leadership experience
- Undergraduate Degree in Business/Commerce, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or similar fields
- Designed and managed complex Enterprise solutions that are mission critical to the businesses that use them
- Taken many features and products, small and large, from 0 to 1 with meaningful market adoption and usage
- Experience managing multiple products and product initiatives simultaneously, along with coordination of cross-team dependencies
- Strong experience in Agile & Scrum methodologies
- Proficiency in ALM software and other tools of your trade i.e., JIRA, Confluence, Aha, Notion, Trello, Whimsical, etc.
- Exceptional organization and permanent attention to detail
- Experience with airlines and/or B2C is a bonus
