Community Support Worker

This position supports individuals with challenging behavior in our staffed residential program (smaller option group home). The home is divided into two separate living quarters; service is delivered on a one to one basis between 7 am to 3 pm and 3 pm to 11 pm. One overnight staff supports both clients between the hours of 11 pm and 7 am.
Responsibilities:
-this position is casual/part time in our Staffed Residential program, supporting adults with a Developmental Disability and challenging behavioral needs. All positions offer one to one support; except for the overnight shift.
-to engage in community inclusion activities the individuals--including social, recreational, exercise, volunteer work
-to provide companionship and emotional support to the supported individuals
regular attendance at team planning meetings is required
Assist with personal care tasks such as bathing, grooming, and dressing
Administer medication according to prescribed schedules
Provide support and assistance with meal preparation and laundry
Perform light housekeeping duties to maintain a clean and safe environment
-Completion of all required reading and training
-Completion of all required documentation and data recording
Requirements:
-excellent written and verbal communication in ENGLISH
-Reliable transportation to be used for transporting clients (your own car)
-licensed and insured to transport a minimum of one person
-successful completion of a Criminal Record Search
-First Aid and CPR
-Food Safe
- Previous experience in supporting individuals with Developmental Disabilities
Ability to follow instructions and work independently with minimal supervision
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Compassionate and patient demeanor when working with individuals of varying abilities
- Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time in an effective manner
Job Types: Part-time, Permanent, Casual
Pay: $24.50-$26.00 per hour
