Occupational Therapist - Hamilton, ON (Full-time)
This role is specifically intended for a practitioner who is familiar and comfortable working in the following areas: auto insurance, long term disability and WSIB with a keen interest in both mental and physical health.
Lifemark Physiotherapy Main West & Longwood is a physiotherapy and rehab clinic that employs a multi-disciplinary and holistic approach to provide our patients with the highest level of quality and compassionate care.
Responsibilities include:
-In clinic interdisciplinary assessments and treatment planning
-Community based assessments to address client safety, attendant care other and ADLs and IADLs
-Functional Capacity Evaluations (both physical and cognitive)
-Job demands analyses (both physical and cognitive), job coaching and return to work planning
-Ergonomic assessments and education to clients on ergonomic principles
-Insurer's examinations
-Educational sessions/presentations to stakeholders
-Pre-employment assessments
-Attendance at staff meetings and participation in case conferences and case management
-Regular report writing and charting in a timely manner, communication with team and stakeholders
-Networking with all stakeholders (both internal and external) to promote OT programs
Qualifications:
-Registration and in good standing with the College of Occupational Therapists of Ontario
-Community/related experience in auto sector legislation is considered an asset
-Keen interest in assessment and management of clients with various physical and mental health challenges
-Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment while working both independently and as part of the team
-Possess superior time management and organizational skills
-Be a self-starter with excellent oral and written communication skills
-Possess critical thinking and decision-making skills
-Be committed to ongoing professional development
-Hold a valid driver's licence and have access to a reliable vehicle
