Your Opportunity

An opportunity exists for a Mechanical Engineering Summer Student within our Winnipeg Buildings Group.

Your Key Responsibilities

Duties
The successful candidate should have a basic understanding of HVAC and Plumbing concepts as well as experience applying design solutions in a team environment. Project management experience is an asset. Specific duties will include:

• Collection of pre-design information from sites or existing drawings
• Design calculations and equipment selections
• Preparation of mechanical drawings from sketches or mark-ups
• Preparation of mechanical specifications
• Working in a team-based environment

Assistance To Engineers And Project Managers In

• Support of project coordination and management
• Site reviews and attendance at site meetings
• Preparation of technical reports

Your Capabilities and Credentials

• An interest in mechanical systems including HVAC, plumbing, fire protection, and sustainable building design/green technology will be considered an asset
• Building systems related courses/knowledge is an asset
• Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
• Detail oriented team player and the ability to work independently

Education and Experience

• Currently enrolled in an accredited mechanical engineering post-secondary program with availability for a summer internship
• AutoCAD familiarity/experience is strongly preferred; Revit experience an asset

Typical office environment working with computers and remaining sedentary for long periods of time. Field work may include exposure to the elements including inclement weather.

Pay Transparency:
In compliance with pay transparency laws, pay ranges are provided for positions in locations where required. Please note, the final agreed upon compensation is based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. At Stantec certain roles are bonus eligible. Actual compensation for part-time roles will be pro-rated based on the agreed number of working hours per week.
