This role is 70% hands-on engineering work and 30% people/project management. You will lead a team of 5 (2 frontend, 2 backend, 1 mobile) engineers working remotely around the world. This team focuses on building and maintaining the technology for our Marketplace businesses.We currently useJavascript on the frontend and backend. You should be comfortable scoping features, working directly with stakeholders, and owning your work/code from end to end.You will help our team to level up. You'll have 5 engineers working with you remotely across North America, Europe and Africa. That said, we're early enough that everyone's work makes a big difference on the company's trajectory. As a result, our team finds hard work fulfilling when we know it will be impactful. Typically, we check out around 6pm to protect personal time and then log back in later at night to finish anything that was left undone.
