WHAT YOU'LL DO:
Role
CoolIT Systems is seeking a Regulatory & Compliance Team Lead/Manager to oversee engineers responsible for safety certification, EMI/EMC compliance, and environmental testing. Reporting to the Senior Manager of Test and Qualification, this role ensures products meet global regulatory standards through strong leadership and technical expertise. The successful candidate will guide safety certifications, ensure compliance with UL/CSA/IEC/ISO standards, and support qualification and reliability testing for CoolIT's next-generation cooling solutions.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage Regulatory & Compliance team, ensuring high-quality execution of compliance testing and certification activities.
  • Oversee product safety certification, EMI/EMC, and environmental testing in accordance with UL/CSA and other international standards.
  • Lead all activities related to UL Data Acceptance Program (CTF-2/CTF-3)
  • Supervise compliance safety certification testing as per UL/CSA and other standards.
  • Coordinate with third-party certification bodies (UL, CSA, etc.) for product evaluations, testing, and certification approvals.
  • Review technical documentation prior to submission for certification.
  • Provide technical leadership in electrical safety, mechanical compliance, EMI/EMC, and environmental testing.
  • Manage internal and external audits related to product safety and regulatory compliance.
  • Mentor, coach, and support compliance engineers and technicians.
  • Collaborate with design, validation, and production teams to integrate compliance requirements early in the product development cycle.
  • Maintain accurate project tracking, documentation, and reporting throughout all compliance activities.
  • Analyze test results and verify product conformance to internal standards and external regulatory requirements.
  • Communicate effectively with global teams across time zones to ensure alignment and timely project execution.
  • Prepare and present technical reports summarizing test results, reliability findings, and recommendations.

Who You Are
Basic Qualification:

  • Bachelor's degree in electrical/electronics engineering or a related field, master's degree is an asset.
  • Minimum 5+ years of experience in product safety compliance testing at an ISO 17025 or UL DAP facility.
  • Strong knowledge of UL/CSA/IEC safety standards related to electronics and IT equipment.
  • Strong knowledge of ISO 17025 and UL Data Acceptance Program
  • Hands-on experience with compliance testing procedures and certification process.
  • Legally authorized to work in Canada without sponsorship.

Preferred Qualification

  • Minimum 2+ years in a leadership or supervisory role.

Skills

  • Excellent organizational, communication, and documentation skills.
  • Proven ability to lead and motivate technical teams in a fast-paced, multi-project environment.
  • Solid understanding of electrical, mechanical, environmental, and EMC testing methods and equipment.
