Volunteer Basketball Referee

We are currently seeking Volunteer Referees for the Crunch Time Basketball League (CTBL), our 3v3 house league running from January 10th - March 14th (10 weeks).
Position Details
- Schedule: Saturdays, 1pm-5:30pm
- Location: Markham District High School, 89 Church Street, Markham
- Game Format for 2 Divisions: 3v3 half-court games (30 minutes each)
- Game Format for Advanced Division: 4v4 or 5v5 Full Court (40 minutes)
- Commitment: Full 10-week season
- 30 min Breaks in between Division Games (3 Divisions)
Role Responsibilities
- Officiate games fairly and consistently according to league rules
- Ensure player safety by monitoring gameplay and calling fouls when necessary
- Maintain game flow and manage disputes with professionalism
- Work collaboratively with scorekeepers, coaches, and league staff
Qualifications & Expectations
- Basketball knowledge and prior officiating or playing experience preferred
- Clear communication skills to interact with players, coaches, and scorekeepers
- Ability to stay engaged and manage fast-paced play
- Reliability and punctuality are essential
