Duties

  • Operate the Point of Sale (POS) system accurately and efficiently to process customer transactions.
  • Provide excellent customer service by greeting customers, answering questions, and assisting with product selections.
  • Handle cash transactions with precision, ensuring proper cash handling procedures are followed.
  • Engage in upselling techniques to promote additional products and enhance sales.
  • Assist in merchandising efforts by organizing displays and maintaining product presentation standards.
  • Perform stocking duties to ensure shelves are well-stocked and organized.
  • Conduct product demonstrations to educate customers on features and benefits.
  • Maintain a clean and organized checkout area while adhering to store policies and procedures.
  • Supervise junior staff as needed, providing guidance on best practices in customer service and sales techniques.
  • Exhibit strong phone etiquette when addressing customer inquiries via phone.

Qualifications

  • Previous experience in retail sales or cashiering is preferred.
  • Familiarity with basic math concepts and retail math principles for accurate transaction processing.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to engage effectively with customers and team members.
  • Bilingual candidates are encouraged to apply, as this can enhance customer interactions.
  • Experience with merchandising techniques is a plus, along with knowledge of grocery store operations.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends as required by the store schedule.
