About CFSC

Computers for Success Canada (CFSC-OPEC) leads a national digital-inclusion ecosystem in partnership with Computers for Schools Plus (CFS+) affiliates across Canada. Through responsible IT reuse, refurbishment, and training programs, CFSC advances digital equity, circular-economy outcomes, and environmental sustainability.

We are developing a new AI-powered ESG Impact Calculator to measure and communicate the environmental and social benefits generated by IT asset donations received through the CFS+ program.

Project Overview

CFSC is seeking a talented
AI developer or software agency
to design and build a tool that:

  • Calculates the
    environmental impact
    of donated IT assets
  • (e.g., CO₂e avoided, landfill diversion, circular-economy benefits)
  • Quantifies
    social-impact metrics
  • (e.g., internships supported, youth trained, communities served)
  • Integrates machine learning to improve accuracy over time
  • Produces
    automated ESG reports
    for corporate donors and provincial affiliates
  • Connects with CFS+ operational data, donation data, and validated ESG formulas

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop an AI/ML model that estimates ESG outcomes based on historical donation, refurbishment, and distribution data
  • Build a user-friendly web dashboard for CFS+ affiliates, donors, and CFSC staff
  • Create APIs and database structures to support ongoing data ingestion
  • Integrate environmental and social impact methodologies (LCA, CO₂e factors, internship metrics)
  • Validate assumptions with CFSC subject-matter experts and ESG advisors
  • Develop automated report outputs (PDF/Excel), including donor-friendly ESG summaries
  • Ensure high security, privacy, and data integrity standards
  • Document all technical components for long-term maintenance

Required Skills & Experience

Technical Requirements

  • 2+ years of experience in software development

Proficiency in:

  • Python (AI/ML frameworks)
  • JavaScript/TypeScript
  • React, Vue, or similar front-end framework
  • Django, Flask, or for the back end
  • SQL and cloud databases

Experience building:

  • Data-driven dashboards
  • Predictive or impact-calculation models
  • APIs and microservices
  • Ability to convert ESG methodologies into computational models

Nice-to-Have

  • Experience with environmental impact modeling or LCA methods
  • Familiarity with ESG reporting standards (GRI, SASB, circularity metrics)
  • Experience working with government-funded or non-profit digital-inclusion programs
  • UI/UX design capability (or ability to coordinate with a designer)

Job Details

  • Location: Position based in Montreal (hybrid)
  • Work Schedule: Full-time (37.5 hours/week)
  • Hourly Rate: $42.57
  • Duration: From February 9 to March 27, 2026

Legal Requirements:

  • Must be between 15 and 29 years old
  • Must be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or refugee status holder authorized to work in Canada
