The Role:

Athena Club is looking for a Junior Full Stack Developer (Shopify) to join our Engineering team remotely (or at our New York HQ). Reporting directly to the Engineering Manager, this Team Member will bridge the gap between design and development, building beautiful, high-performance e-commerce experiences and utilizing AI tools to craft intuitive, pixel-perfect user interfaces.

Responsibilities:

  • Build & Maintain:
    Develop custom Shopify themes and apps using Liquid, React, , and modern front-end frameworks.
  • Design Engineering:
    Take high-fidelity designs and implement them with an obsession for detail, spacing, typography, and motion.
  • AI-Driven Development
    : Utilize LLM-based coding tools (Cursor, Claude, etc.) to rapidly prototype, debug, and implement features.
  • Full Stack Execution
    : Work on everything from front-end UI adjustments to back-end API integrations, obsessing over site speed and conversion rates.

Requirements:

  • Experience:
    1–2 years of experience with the Shopify ecosystem (Liquid, Storefront API, App development); experience at a DTC or subscription-based company is preferred.
  • The Tinkerer:
    You have a portfolio of side projects and build things because you love to create.
  • The AI Pro:
    You are proficient with Cursor, Claude Code, or similar AI-assisted development environments.
  • Tech Stack:
    Proficiency in HTML, CSS, JavaScript (ES6+), React/Vue, and
  • Self-starter with excellent organizational and prioritization skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate cross-functionally across technical and non-technical teams.
