Summary

The Employment and Entrepreneurship Pathway Facilitator is a catalyst and strategic connector dedicated to advancing supportive, culturally grounded employment and entrepreneurship pathways for Indigenous youth. The Facilitator plays a critical role in effectively bringing the right people, resources, and opportunities together to strengthen youth in their employment and livelihood journeys, support the reduction of systemic barriers, and promote transformative change.   

The Opportunity

Employment and Entrepreneurship Pathway Facilitator – Empower Indigenous Youth and Build Lasting Partnerships

Are you passionate about empowering Indigenous youth and strengthening community connections? Ulnooweg is looking for a Facilitator who will convene partners, strengthen relationships, and co‑create transformative initiatives that support youth success.

In this role, you'll:

  • Foster collaboration among a diverse network of partners, including Indigenous organizations, communities, youth, Elders, employers, and other stakeholders.
  • Guide collaborative planning and knowledge-sharing processes that align with community priorities.
  • Grow partnerships and help develop initiatives that support Indigenous youth on their educational journey.
  • Champion resource mobilization by engaging the philanthropic sector and funding partners to amplify impact and create new opportunities.

This position involves regular travel across Atlantic Canada, building trusted relationships with communities and stakeholders. Through collaboration and shared visioning, you'll strengthen pathways that empower Indigenous youth to succeed.

Qualifications

Education & Experience

  • Post‑secondary degree or diploma in Business, Indigenous Studies, Community Development, Social Work, or related field, or equivalent combination of education and lived/professional experience
  • Experience in youth development, employment, entrepreneurship, community engagement, or partnership development
  • Experience in strategic planning, project coordination, or multi‑stakeholder collaboration

Cultural and Contextual Knowledge

  • Awareness of Atlantic Canadian Indigenous communities and cultures
  • Strong understanding of systemic barriers and opportunities for Indigenous youth in employment and entrepreneurship
  • Familiarity with Indigenous organizational ecosystems supporting youth and community development

Facilitation and Coordination

  • Experience in group facilitation, collaborative planning, and guiding multi‑stakeholder initiatives
  • Ability to synthesize information into collaborative strategies ensuring all voices are represented

Communication & Relationship Building

  • Strong relationship‑building and communication skills with Indigenous communities, Elders, youth, and partners
  • Collaborative mindset with ability to work independently and in teams
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Project & Time Management

  • Strong project management skills with ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Flexible and adaptable to evolving needs
  • Self‑motivated and organized

Technical Skills

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Ability to work in cloud‑based environments

Candidates should also demonstrate competencies such as adaptability, communication, teamwork, and strategic thinking.

Conditions of Employment

  • Remote work based in Atlantic Canada
  • Regular travel across Atlantic provinces (approx. 50%)
  • Valid driver's license and reliable vehicle
  • Ability to use a computer and peripherals
  • Overtime as required; willingness to work evenings or weekends
  • Criminal Record Check/Vulnerable sector

Duration 
Full‑time, 5‑year term position

This is a full time position that follows usual business hours (Monday through Friday 8:30am to 4:30pm AST) with some flexibility outside of these hours based on operational need.
