Commercial Property and Corporate Accountant

Duties shall include but are not limited to:

  • Monitor daily bank transactions and prepare monthly bank reconciliations
  • Prepare monthly/quarterly/annual GST reconciliations, fillings and payments
  • Process Translink Tax remittances
  • Perform online banking
  • Maintain tenant ledgers, post miscellaneous charges as instructed and reply to inquiries promptly
  • Prepare rental notices for new lease/lease renewal for distribution
  • Work collaboratively with property management and provide timely support
  • Review lease setup and monthly rent rolls prepared by Accounting Clerk, add recovery setup in Yardi if applicable
  • Prepare monthly financial packages including recovery reconciliations, accounting reports, management report update and funding request
  • Process monthly owner distributions
  • Monitor capital project invoices and update tracking sheets accordingly
  • Assist in new property setup
  • Prepare annual recovery reconciliations and tenant accounting packages
  • Prepare annual property budgets including excel workbook update, Yardi input and schedule charge update, and rental notice preparation in a timely manner
  • Handle corporate payroll and benefits administration, ensure compliance with regulations and timely chargeback to properties
  • Manage full cycle accounting for a couple of small companies
  • Assist other team members and relieve front desk when needed
  • Work on Ad Hoc projects as assigned

Qualifications

  • Accounting diploma or equivalent education
  • 2 years' commercial property management and corporate accounting experience
  • 2 years' Canadian payroll experience
  • Yardi Voyage and Payworks experience
  • Ethical and professional manner in handling confidential information
  • High proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • Detail oriented with sound analytical skills
  • Exceptional time management and strong commitment to meet deadline
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
