Business Development Manager – Ontario Region

SMC Monitoring Corporation

A Name You Can Trust. A Career You Can Grow In.

At SMC Monitoring, we partner with trusted dealers to deliver complete fire, security, and monitoring solutions across Canada. From coast to coast, our focus is on quality, technology leadership, and service excellence. We're proud to be the single point of contact our partners and clients rely on – and we're growing.

We're looking for a driven, relationship-focused Business Development Manager to grow our dealer channel and connect with commercial and residential clients in the Ontario Region. This is an existing vacancy.

 Why This Role?

  • Make an impact: Be the face of SMC in your region, building relationships and driving real business growth.
  • Sell services: Our value is in solutions, support, and long-term partnerships.
  • Entrepreneurial freedom: You'll have the autonomy to own your territory, backed by senior management.
  • Competitive compensation, benefits, and room to grow.

What You'll Do

  • Drive new business across your region – with dealers and direct clients (commercial & residential).
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with dealers, subcontractors.
  • Proactively identify new business opportunities through market research and networking.
  • Collaborate with national and regional BDMs to share insights and strategy.
  • Represent SMC at major events, trade shows, and industry networking opportunities.
  • Provide product and service guidance to dealers, helping them close more deals.
  • Align closely with internal teams – from marketing to operations – to deliver a seamless customer experience.

What You Bring

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • A strong understanding of the security, fire, Video Monitoring, and monitoring industry is a major asset.
  • Proven experience in sales, business development, or dealer management – ideally selling services and technical solutions, not product.
  • A self-starter with a positive attitude and hunger to win.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
  • Comfortable working independently and managing your own schedule.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and a collaborative mindset.
  • Solid computer skills (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, etc.).

What We Offer

  • Competitive salary + Commission based Incentives
  • Full benefits package + RRSP matching
  • Ongoing training and professional development
  • Support from a seasoned leadership team that's invested in your success
  • Experienced, long-term colleagues who collaborate, share insights, and have your back
  • Employee perks, recognition programs, and a culture that celebrates performance
  • A stable, growing company with a strong reputation and national presence
  • A high-performance team environment where your ideas and contributions matter

The base salary range for this role is: $80,000 to $90,000
