Our client is a well respected real estate developer in the city with a portfolio consisting of residential, commercial and master planned projects. They pride themselves on hiring best in class and have created a company culture that allows new joiners to flourish.

They are seeking a
Tax Manager
to take ownership of all aspects of tax management, including compliance, reporting, and strategic tax planning. Reporting into the Director of Tax, you will play a big part in the companies tax strategy and efficiency.

The Role:

  • Prepare and review key tax documents, including instalment schedules, year-end provisions, and income tax schedules for management and audit purposes.
  • Monitor changes in tax legislation, evaluate business impacts, and recommend compliance actions.
  • Provide guidance on tax estimation for transactions and forecasts within cash flow budgets.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and external advisors to assess tax and accounting implications of business activities.
  • Identify and implement process improvements and automation opportunities to enhance tax accuracy and efficiency.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams and mentor junior tax staff through training, feedback, and review of deliverables.

The Candidate:

  • CPA designation (or equivalent)
  • A minimum of 3-4 years of progressive experience in tax, ideally within a complex corporate or real estate environment.
  • Strong technical knowledge of Canadian corporate tax, with exposure to international tax considered an asset.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills with a detail-oriented approach.
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills with both internal and external stakeholders.
