Key Responsibilities The purpose of the Health, Safety, Environment, and Quality (HSEQ) and Operations Co-ordinator role is to provide HSEQ governance for the North American Region. They ensure the Region has efficient and effective health, safety, quality, and sustainability structures and processes to meet the requirements of the Global 9001, 14001, and 45001 certifications adapted for local requirements where required.
The HSEQ Co-ordinator also provides leadership in the provision of facilities, information technology, and security across the organization. They ensure BMT staff have the right tools in the proper environment to support employee engagement and meet client needs.
The role will be supporting North America's Vice President - Commercial Director and the Global HSEQ Director. They are the subject matter expert (SME) on HSEQ issues ensuring policy and legal compliance and commercial and operational excellence in a safe, sustainable, efficient, and effective environment
Responsibilities and Tasks Include:
- Manage a team which includes the Security Co-ordinator, Facilities and IT Co-ordinator, USA HSEQ Manager, as well provide work direction to local office facility co-ordinators in their respective locations.
- Champions safety in the Regions by promoting a progressive safety culture supported by efficient and effective process.
- Co-ordinate the company's compliance with its (ISO) 9001:2015, 14001:2015, and 45001:2018 registrations and supports efforts to register under the 17025 and 27001 management systems.
- Ensures Heath, Safety, and Quality legal compliance and related horizon monitoring.
- Responsible for internal audit programs to validate adherence to established processes.
- Liaise with external HSEQ auditors.
- Manage OFIs, CARs PARs and NCRs tracking actions.
- Maintain HSEQ documents in SharePoint, MYOSH, Navigator, and client portals, as well as internal reporting and KPI tracking.
- Provide training and awareness to staff on key elements of HSEQ program.
- Facilitate JHSC engagement in the Safety Program.
- Ensure the comprehensive Risk Assessment Program is followed to minimize the probability and severity of HSEQ risks.
- Work co-operatively with the People Department to promote employee wellness.
- Liaise with Customers and Supply Chain regarding HSEQ matters.
- Liaise with peers in the other Regions and Group HSEQ Director to harmonize practises and exploit best practices.
- Manage the Facilities IT Co-Ordinator's day-to-day engagement with the outsourced IT Managed Service Provider.
- Manage the Security Co-Ordinator efforts to maintain a safety posture related to facilities, IT, and personnel controls to meet internal and external requirements.
- Ensures resiliency is built into the organization through business continuity and disaster recovery planning.
Skills, Knowledge & Expertise
- Five years' experience managing HSEQ (9001, 14001,17025, 27001, and functions that includes at least light industrial activities
- Completion of post-secondary education in a related discipline
- Established record of implementing or significantly improving HSEQ processes in at least a medium size organization
- Ability to obtain a Canadian Security clearance
- Excellent English written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent interpersonal and teamwork skills
