The Senior Analyst, Forecasting will work closely with the Director, Merchandising & Forecasting to provide support in conducting analytical activities, following consumer trends, and tracking competitive promotional events. Leading market share reporting and analysis for the Category teams is also a key component of this role.
Accountabilities:
- Act as business partner with Category teams providing market share expertise to identify strategic business opportunities
- Work closely with Sr. Director, Planning in the preparation of senior management presentations and high level market share analysis
- Responsible for designing, creating, and implementing new business processes for both the promotions and grocery category teams through the creation of new tools, systems, and reports.
- Responsible for timely delivery of weekly and periodic reports and analysis; Monitor trends in business performance and forecast variances
- Work with the AC Nielsen team and their data on a daily basis analyzing all aspects of the business
- Work with the promotions team to analyze promotional activity in all categories
- Liaison for the vendor advisor teams
Role Requirements:
- University degree in Business or a related field.
- An analytical and creative thinker, with a track record of delivering results
- A high level of personal initiative
- Strong communication and presentation skills
- Strong planning and organizational skills
- Strong PC skills (including Excel, Access, Word, and PowerPoint)
- The ability to deal with ambiguity and make intelligent assumptions
- Strong personal responsibility, honesty and integrity
- Experience in the grocery retail industry would be an asset
