The Opportunity

RVS is currently seeking applications for a temporary, part-time (30 hrs/week) Caretaker I position to provide routine cleaning duties at Chestermere Lake Middle School starting immediately and ending March 10, 2026. Monday to Friday after school hours with the exception of 1-2 day shifts per month (as per School Year Calendar).

Under the supervision of the Head Building Operator and Building Operator, the Caretaker I provides caretaking services at their assigned Rocky View Schools (RVS) facilities. The Caretaker I is responsible for the housekeeping of school buildings, maintaining contents and furnishings in good appearance and in clean, tidy, sanitary condition, as assigned by their supervisor.

Responsibilities Include

• Attention to detail related to varied and complex cleaning tasks
• Ability to work independently and perform assigned tasks within a team environment
• Demonstrated pride in workmanship
• Performs building security checks as scheduled by the Head Building Operator
• Experience working in accordance with Occupational Health & Safety, WHMIS and other relevant legislation

Education/Experience

• Previous cleaning experience is considered an asset
• Certifications from cleaning organization is considered an asset
• Previous experience within a school division is considered an asset
• An equivalent combination of Education and Experience may be considered

Knowledge/Skills

• Basic knowledge of proper cleaning procedures
• Ability to successfully work in a team environment as well as independently with minimal

supervision
- Effective written and verbal communication skills
