Markham, Ontario, Canada Northview Heights Early Learning Centre Full time

We are currently seeking Registered Early Childhood Educators and Early Childhood Assistants to join our on-call Casual/Supply Team for both locations at Northview Advent Child Care and Northview Heights ELC. We are located at Bathurst Street & Finch Avenue West.

Responsibilities:

  • Will be required to implement age appropriate programs that stimulate and enriches children's development for children ages 1month – 4years of age.
  • Work in accordance with the policies and guidelines set out in the Child Care and Early Years Act, 2014, Toronto Public Health, and Toronto Children's Services Assessment for Quality Improvement.
  • Assist team teachers in maintaining children's safety and well being.
  • Assist in documentation
  • Establish and maintains collaborative relationships with parents and families by utilizing a variety of communication tools (HiMama, daily conversations, newsletters, children's daily charts, etc) while being sensitive to their culture and beliefs.
  • Assist with administrative tasks in the classroom; ensuring records are accurate and up to date (attendances, cleaning schedules, accident reports, etc)

Qualifications:

  • Graduate of an Early Childhood Education program (2 years recognized College Diploma or University Degree).
  • ECEs must be registered with the College of ECE in "Good Standing".
  • Recent (within 6 months) Police Check with Vulnerable Sector Screening.
  • Must possess a valid Standard First Aid/CPR certificate Level C.
  • Minimum of 1 year experience working with children in a child care setting.
  • Experience with HiMama an asset.
  • Fluent in English, verbal and written.
  • Physically able to participate in program with children inside and outside the classroom.
  • Sensitive and inclusive to the children and families' needs.
  • Able to work well within a team environment by establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with children, parents, staff and program specialists.
  • Flexible and adaptable to changing environments.
  • Exhibit a genuine, nurturing, and caring attitude in the classroom.

Hours: flexible between the hours of 7am-6pm.

Pay: $19.58-$24.81 per hour
