Evolution Mechanical is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Journeyman/woman Heavy Duty Mechanic to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for inspecting, diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining heavy-duty equipment in remote locations. Evolution Mechanical is hiring for positions in the field with a service truck on various shifts. The 2 shifts we have available currently are 14 days on 14 days off and 14 days on with 7 days off. This position requires a strong work ethic, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to work independently in challenging environments. Benefits are provided after 3 months of work, which include 100% coverage and Evolution Mechanical covers this completely.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Inspect, diagnose, and repair mechanical and electrical defects in heavy-duty equipment such as automobiles, gasoline and diesel-powered trucks, winches, power take-offs, pneumatic or hydraulic pumps, booms, cables, blades, and buckets.
  • Overhaul and re-assemble electrical components such as alternators, distributors, starters, relays, and solenoids.
  • Perform thorough maintenance on machinery, equipment, and systems to ensure maximum reliability and longevity.
  • Build and assemble machines or mechanical components according to requirements and specifications.
  • Troubleshoot reported problems and resolve them in a timely and efficient manner, minimizing downtime and ensuring the smooth operation of equipment.
  • Collaborate with other team members and communicate effectively with supervisors and clients to provide updates on progress and address any concerns.
  • Maintain accurate records of repairs, maintenance, and inspections performed on equipment.
  • Adhere to all safety regulations and guidelines, ensuring a safe working environment for yourself and others.
  • Continuously update your knowledge of industry trends, advancements, and best practices to stay current in your field.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Journeyman/woman Heavy Duty Mechanic certification
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience working with heavy-duty equipment.
  • Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems.
  • Proficiency in using diagnostic tools and equipment to identify and resolve issues.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with team members and clients.
  • A valid driver's license without a GDL and clean driving record.
  • Willingness to travel to remote locations and work flexible hours as needed.
  • Commitment to maintaining a safe working environment and adhering to all safety regulations and guidelines.
  • Physical fitness and the ability to lift heavy objects, stand for extended periods, and work in various weather conditions.
