Overview

We are seeking a skilled Heavy Duty Mechanic to join our team, responsible for maintaining and repairing a wide range of heavy equipment and industrial machinery. The ideal candidate will possess extensive mechanical knowledge, hands-on experience with heavy equipment, and the ability to troubleshoot complex systems. This role offers an opportunity to work with diverse machinery including excavators, cranes, forklifts, and farm equipment, ensuring optimal performance and safety across operations.

Responsibilities

  • Diagnose and repair heavy machinery such as excavators, cranes, forklifts, tractors, and other industrial equipment
  • Perform routine maintenance including oil changes, filter replacements, and system inspections
  • Fabricate parts and components as needed using welding, soldering, and hand tools
  • Read and interpret schematics, technical manuals, and wiring diagrams for accurate repairs
  • Conduct diagnostics on diesel engines, transmissions, hydraulics, air brakes, suspension systems, HVAC units, and electrical systems
  • Replace or repair shocks & struts, tires, brakes, and alignments to ensure safety standards are met
  • Operate heavy equipment safely during repairs or testing procedures
  • Maintain detailed service records of all repairs and maintenance activities
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations and industry standards during all tasks

Qualifications

  • Proven experience as a Heavy Duty Mechanic or Service Technician with a strong background in automotive diagnostics and industrial equipment repair
  • Dealership experience is highly desirable
  • Proficiency in fabrication techniques including welding and soldering
  • Hands-on experience working with excavators, cranes, forklifts, farm machinery, tractor-trailers, and other heavy equipment
  • Ability to read schematics and technical manuals accurately
  • Skilled in the use of power tools, hand tools, and diagnostic equipment
  • Knowledge of vehicle maintenance procedures including transmissions, air brakes, hydraulics, suspension systems, HVAC systems, and diesel engine repair
  • Strong mechanical knowledge combined with excellent problem-solving skills
  • Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently
  • Excellent customer service skills for interacting with clients regarding repairs or maintenance needs

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: $25.00-$45.00 per hour
