AutoCAD Designer – Civil Construction

To support the continued growth of our design and construction operations, we are currently seeking an AutoCAD Designer to join our team. The successful candidate will assist in producing accurate, high-quality civil drawings and 3D models for site development, roads, utilities, and grading projects.

Responsibilities include:

• Prepare and maintain detailed civil construction drawings and layouts from design concepts, survey data, and field information.
• Draft clear, accurate, and complete drawings that incorporate cadastral data, design inputs, and field notes.
• Create and update base maps, grading plans, and as-built drawings from survey and engineering data.
• Assist in the design and modeling of earthworks, road alignments, drainage, and utility networks using AutoCAD Civil 3D.
• Generate surfaces, corridors, and volume reports for estimating, tendering, and construction purposes.
• Revise drawings to incorporate design changes, redlines, and feedback from project managers and surveyors.
• Support the integration of GPS and machine control data files (XML, CSV, DXF) for field use.
• Maintain quality control by verifying accuracy, completeness, and consistency of CAD deliverables.
• Manage and organize drawing files, templates, and layers in accordance with company CAD standards.
• Collaborate closely with project managers, engineers, and field staff to ensure alignment between design intent and construction execution.
• Assist with the analysis and management of project data sets through spreadsheets, databases, and CAD integration.
• Provide technical support for field layout and quantity calculations as needed.

Qualifications:

• Diploma or certification in Civil Engineering Technology, Drafting, or a related discipline.
• Minimum 3 years of AutoCAD experience, preferably in civil construction or land development.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD Civil 3D (surfaces, grading, alignments, pipe networks, and volume calculations).
• Strong understanding of civil site design, grading, drainage, and utility layout principles.
• Experience preparing design drawings for roadworks, subdivisions, and earthworks projects.
• Knowledge of survey data integration and GPS/machine control workflows considered an asset.
• Excellent attention to detail, accuracy, and organization.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
• Strong communication skills and ability to meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced setting.
• Familiarity with Microsoft Office, Bluebeam, and 3D modeling software considered an asset.
