We are seeking a skilled CNC Brake Operator to join our manufacturing team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for setting up and operating 1 of 4 Brakes to produce precision parts and components according to specifications. This role requires attention to detail, a strong understanding of machining processes, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment. The CNC Operator will play a crucial role in ensuring product quality and efficiency through adherence to lean manufacturing principles.

We operate a permanent day and night shift. Day shift is Monday-Friday, 44 hours each week. Dayshift is 6:00AM-3:30PM. Overtime opportunities are often available on Saturdays for any employee interested in additional income.

Duties

  • Set up and operate CNC brake to fabricate parts according to engineering drawings.
  • Comfortable bending large quantities of carbon steel, aluminum, and stainless-steel sheet material.
  • Perform routine maintenance on machines and troubleshoot any issues that arise during operation.
  • Quantify material processed in our production tracking software.
  • Conduct inspections of bent parts to verify dimensions and tolerances.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area while adhering to safety protocols.
  • Collaborate with team members to implement lean manufacturing practices for continuous improvement.
  • Be willing and able to assist with other shop tasks when required.

Skills

  • 3+ years of direct experience in a fabrication shop environment.
  • Proficient in operation of CNC Press brakes.
  • Basic computer skills for data entry.
  • Ability to read engineered drawings to ensure accuracy of bent material.
  • Experience with Amada, HACO, and All Steel brakes an asset but not required.
  • Experience with forklift operation an asset but not required.
  • Apprentice or Journeyman Sheet Metal certification an asset but not required.

Wage is dependent on a combination of experience and ticketed qualifications.
