Under the direction of the General Manager, the Corporate Services Manager is responsible for overseeing and coordinating a broad range of administrative and operational functions that support the organization's efficiency and compliance. This role ensures effective management of Accounts Receivable, Credit, Accounts Payable, Marketing, Health & Safety, Fleet, Information Technology, Human Resources, and Payroll. The Corporate Services Manager acts as a central point of accountability, driving operational excellence and supporting strategic business objectives.
SUPERVISION AND LEADERSHIP
- Hires, supervises, leads and develops corporate staff to be technically competent, industry knowledgeable, and customer focused. Fosters a culture of growth and accountability by encouraging employees to acquire new skills, expand their capabilities, and take on greater responsibilities. Provides strategic support to the management team by delivering local market insights, competitor intelligence, and operational information to guide decision-making.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
FINANCIAL MANAGEMENT
Oversee Accounts Receivable and Credit functions to ensure timely collections and risk management.
Manage Accounts Payable processes to maintain vendor relationships and ensure accurate, timely payments.
- Support revenue generation by promoting and selling FCC products/services to customers, ensuring alignment with financial goals and customer needs
- Collaborate with Finance to monitor cash flow, reporting, and compliance with financial policies
HUMAN RESOURCES & PAYROLL
Lead HR functions including recruitment, onboarding, employee relations, performance management, and training.
Ensure accurate and compliant payroll processing, benefits/pension administration, and recordkeeping.
- Support workforce planning and employee engagement initiatives.
INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY
Oversee IT infrastructure, systems, and support services to ensure secure and efficient operations.
Partner with IT staff or vendors to manage cybersecurity, software updates, and technology procurement.
MARKETING & COMMUNICATIONS
Direct marketing initiatives to promote the company's brand, products, and services.
Coordinate internal and external communications to align with organizational goals.
HEALTH & SAFETY
Provide strategic oversight of the organization's health and safety program, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and internal standards.
Ensure that safety procedures, training, and reporting systems are properly implemented and maintained by staff, with appropriate monitoring and follow‑up.
- Lead organizational safety governance by reviewing performance metrics, guiding corrective actions, and promoting a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
FLEET MANAGEMENT
- Provide oversight of all vehicle documentation processes and standards, including maintenance, insurance and compliance.
- Oversee licensing and registration processes, ensuring that all vehicles and drivers remain compliant with provincial and federal regulations.
GENERAL CORPORATE SERVICES
Develop and implement policies and procedures across corporate service functions.
Provide leadership and guidance to staff within each service area.
- Identify opportunities for process improvement and cost savings.
- Act as a liaison between corporate services and senior management to align operations with strategic objectives.
OTHER JOB FUNCTIONS
- Follow the Occupational Health and Safety act (OHSA) for supervisors: ensure that a worker complies with the Act and regulations; ensure that any equipment, protective device or clothing required by the employer is used or worn by the worker; advise a worker of any potential or actual health or safety dangers known by the supervisor; if prescribed, provide a worker with written instructions about the measures and procedures to be taken for the worker's protection; take every precaution reasonable in the circumstances for the protection of workers.
- Administers the personnel policies of the company for employees supervised including selection, training and evaluation.
- Participate in MCS training which includes, but not limited to, the mandatory Ministry of Labour course, MCS Health & Safety Standards and Policies, and Accessibility Policies (AODA).
- Ensures that approved contractors have received and signed off on the H&S Contractor Package off form prior to work being performed.
- Ensures that all licenses, certificates and regulatory requirements are maintained and followed by the location and MCS employees.
Performs other duties as assigned.
REQUIREMENTS
High school diploma or equivalent required; post-secondary education in Business Administration, Finance, Human Resources, or related field.
Minimum 3-5 years of leadership and/or management in corporate services or operations management.
- Strong knowledge of financial process (AR, AP, Credit) and HR/payroll practices.
- Proven experience in managing IT systems, marketing initiatives, and fleet operations.
- Familiarity with health & safety regulations and compliance requirements.
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and retail systems.
- Proficient in Office 365 including Excel, Word, Outlook, and Teams
- Excellent communication, organizational, and decision-making skills
- Ability to lead teams, manage multiple priorities, and drive cross-functional collaboration.
WORKING CONDITIONS
- Standard business hours, with occasional extended time to meet deadlines.
- Professional office environment; work performed indoors in a climate‑controlled setting.
- Frequent computer use and interaction with colleagues, management, and external stakeholders.
- Prolonged sitting with occasional walking, standing, or light lifting (up to 20 lbs).
- Minimal travel may be required for meetings, training, or vendor visits.
