Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented, tech-savvy Bookkeeper with strong communication skills and a solid foundation in Canadian accounting practices. The role starts part-time and may expand to a full-time position for the right candidate.
Key Responsibilities
- Full-cycle bookkeeping for multiple small business clients
- Bank and credit card reconciliations
- Accounts payable and accounts receivable management
- Payroll processing and employee reimbursements using QuickBooks Online and OnTheClock
- HST/EHT/WSIB filings and basic year-end prep
- Monthly financial reports and client communications
- Managing receipts and supporting documents digitally (e.g., via cloud tools)
- Assist with integrating AI and automation tools to improve workflows
Requirements
- Diploma or Certificate in Accounting from a recognized Canadian institution
- 2+ years of bookkeeping experience (preferably in a multi-client environment)
- Strong QuickBooks Online (QBO) proficiency (certification is an asset)
- Solid skills in Microsoft Excel, Outlook, and Word
- Excellent verbal and written English
- Comfortable working with AI tools (e.g., ChatGPT, Dext, etc.) to streamline processes
- Strong organizational skills, ability to work independently, and meet deadlines
Nice to Have
- QuickBooks ProAdvisor certification
- Experience with payroll systems like Wagepoint or OnTheClock
- Familiarity with Canadian tax filings (personal or corporate)
