Overview

Buffalo Airways is seeking a mechanic to join our family business.

Experienced Journeyperson or Red Seal status to be based in Yellowknife. You will be responsible for the maintenance, repair and inspection of our equipment fleet, including trucks, trailers and light diesel machinery.

Responsibilities

  • Shift will be Monday - Friday
  • Perform inspections, repairs and general maintenance of trucks, trailers and equipment including engine, electrical, hydraulics, transmissions, drive trains, power take-offs, fuel injection and exhaust systems.
  • Preventative maintenance services for all mobile equipment.
  • Capable of working with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to motivate and lead a team of people.
  • Ability to work closely alongside our management teams at both our Truck Repair Facility and our Head Office
  • Ensure a safe work environment in compliance with all safety policies and procedures.
  • General equipment and vehicle repairs
  • Maintain fleet and shop equipment
  • Production environment troubleshooting and repairs
  • Able to perform service calls when needed

Accountabilities:

  • General safety in and around equipment and operating plant
  • Reporting unsafe job sites and procedures
  • Maintain a positive image to the customers and the general public
  • Ability to plan work and self-direct
  • Ability to work in fast-paced environment
  • Positive attitude and works well within a team atmosphere

Qualifications

Education:

  • Valid Journeyman ticket

License/Certification:

  • Class 5 License (required)
  • Journeyman (required)

· Trade Certificate (required)

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: Start at $40.00 per hour (will be reviewed after three month probation)
