Role Description

This is a full-time, on-site role for a Continuing Care Assistant located in Dartmouth, NS. The Continuing Care Assistant will provide support and assistance with daily living activities, including personal care, mobility support, and companionship, while maintaining a safe and caring environment. Responsibilities include assisting residents with bathing, dressing, feeding, and toileting, as well as fostering meaningful engagement and dignity in their daily lives. This role also involves working collaboratively with healthcare professionals and family members to ensure the highest quality of care for residents.

Qualifications

  • Proficiency in Manual Handling techniques and safe patient movement
  • Strong Interpersonal Skills and Communication abilities to foster relationships with residents and colleagues
  • Knowledge and experience in Dementia Care and Caregiving practices
  • Compassionate, patient, and capable of working in a team-oriented environment
  • Certification as a Continuing Care Assistant (CCA) or equivalent recognized qualification
  • First Aid and CPR certification is an asset
  • Experience in a continuing care or long-term care setting is an advantage
