Overview

This role involves supporting residents with daily activities, health monitoring, and emotional well-being, ensuring a safe and nurturing environment. The ideal candidate will have experience in home and community care, assisted living, or long-term care, along with a strong commitment to patient-centered support. Prior training in first aid, CPR, and HIPAA compliance is highly desirable. This position offers an opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of those requiring assistance with daily living and healthcare needs.

Responsibilities

  • Assist residents with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support
  • Monitor patient health by taking vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse, and temperature
  • Administer medications and assist with medication management according to care plans
  • Support residents during meal preparation and feeding, ensuring nutritional needs are met
  • Provide companionship and emotional support to promote mental well-being
  • Maintain a clean and safe environment through regular cleaning and sanitation practices
  • Observe and report any changes in residents' physical or mental health to appropriate healthcare professionals
  • Assist with transfers using equipment such as Hoyer lifts or resident lifts for heavy lifting needs
  • Follow all HIPAA regulations to ensure confidentiality of patient information
  • Support residents with specialized needs such as dementia care, Alzheimer's care, autism support, or hospice care as required
  • Collaborate with healthcare teams to develop and implement individualized care plans
  • Document patient observations accurately and maintain detailed records in compliance with healthcare standards

Qualifications

  • Prior experience in home & community care, assisted living, nursing homes, or long-term care preferred
  • Certifications such as First Aid, CPR, and HIPAA compliance are highly desirable
  • Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities or neurodegenerative conditions such as dementia or Alzheimer's is a plus
  • Ability to perform heavy lifting and assist with mobility using appropriate equipment (e.g., Hoyer lifts)
  • Strong communication skills and patience when working with diverse populations including seniors and individuals with disabilities
  • Knowledge of medication administration protocols and vital signs monitoring
  • Compassionate attitude with a genuine desire to improve the quality of life for residents
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a multidisciplinary team in home or community settings

Pay: $23.00-$26.00 per hour

Expected hours: 2 – 20 per week
