Job Overview

We are seeking compassionate and dedicated Healthcare Assistants to provide high-quality support to patients in various settings, including assisted living facilities, nursing homes, hospice care, and home care environments. The ideal candidate will play a vital role in ensuring the comfort, safety, and well-being of individuals with diverse needs, including seniors, people with disabilities, and those experiencing dementia. Responsibilities

  • Assist patients with daily activities such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility
  • Provide patient care tailored to individual needs, including medication administration and health monitoring
  • Support with meal preparation and feeding as required
  • Help with light housekeeping tasks to maintain a clean and safe environment
  • Offer companionship and emotional support to patients and their families
  • Assist with mobility and heavy lifting to ensure safety during transfers or repositioning
  • Document patient care activities accurately and report any concerns or changes in condition
  • Follow all safety protocols and infection control procedures to ensure a safe environment for patients and staff

Experience

  • Prior experience in assisted living, nursing home, hospice care, or home care is preferred
  • Experience working with seniors, individuals with disabilities, or those with dementia is highly desirable
  • Knowledge of caregiving best practices, medication administration, and patient safety standards is advantageous
  • Previous experience in caregiving roles involving meal preparation, cleaning, or heavy lifting is beneficial
  • A background in nursing or healthcare-related fields can enhance your ability to provide comprehensive patient support

Requirements

  • Experience in Home Health Care - Prior experience as an Internationally Educated Nurse (IEN), Registered Care Aide (RCA), Personal Support Worker (PSW), or Health Care Assistant (HCA) is an asset.
  • First Aid & CPR
  • Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector
  • TB test within 24 months
  • Driver's license and reliable vehicle
