THE JOB: Senior Program Coordinator, Employee Programs, Learning and Development (10 Month Contract)

The starting salary range falls within the minimum to mid-point of the salary range.

Starting Salary Range: $63,600 - $79,500

Reporting to the Senior Manager, Learning and Development, the Senior Program Coordinator, Employee Programs, Learning and Development will develop and implement learning programs and resources to support areas of strategic importance for our employees and members. These programs will enable knowledge exchange, shared collaboration and learning experiences. The Senior Program Coordinator will collaborate with multiple external partners, learning vendors, and other internal departments and teams across Doctors of BC. Working towards collective success through collaborative, impactful, and valuable learning and development program offerings.

In collaboration with key stakeholders and subject matter experts, the Senior Program Coordinator will recommend, design, and orchestrate learning and development programs based on adult education principles, design methodologies, and learning frameworks. While promoting a culture of learning, this role will develop and support the execution of various implementation plans and ongoing maintenance for large-scale employee-facing learning and development programs, specifically the Doctors of BC Leadership and Mentorship programs, as well as LinkedIn Learning and the Peer Learning Network. The Senior Program Coordinator will manage implementation, communications, and maintenance by scheduling, organizing, and tracking in alignment with the learning objectives set to ensure program success. In addition, the Senior Program Coordinator will collaborate with other team members to create customized content (i.e., e-learning, facilitator guides, PPTs, and curricula) to support the current and future learning needs of the organization.

  • Diagnoses problems using formal problem-solving tools and techniques from multiple angles and probes underlying issues to generate multiple potential solutions.
  • Proactively anticipates and prevents problems.
  • Devises, facilitates buy-in, makes recommendations, and guides implementation of corrective and/or preventive actions for complex issues that cross organizational boundaries and are unclear in nature.
  • Identifies potential consequences and risk levels. Seeks support and buy-in for problem definition, methods of resolution, and accountability.

Thoroughness (A):

  • Identifies potential areas of conflicting priorities and vulnerability in achieving standards.
  • Reviews department's progress against established goals, objectives, service level targets, and project.
  • Supports others in achieving deliverables by efficiently allocating resources and providing common organizing systems, techniques, and disciplines.
  • Maintains a proactive work review and approval process prior to assignment completion.
  • Solicits internal and external customer evaluation of performance and devises measures for improvement.

Communication For Results (A):

  • Converses with, writes reports for, and creates/delivers presentations to all levels of colleagues and peer groups in ways that support problem solving, planning and consensus with business partners.
  • Debates opinions, tests understanding, and clarifies judgments. Brings conflict into the open empathetically.
  • Explains the context of multiple interrelated situations, asks searching, probing questions, and solicits expert advice prior to taking action and making recommendations.

WHAT YOU BRING

  • A university degree and/or recognized professional designation in a related field, and up to four years of progressive and related experience; or an equivalent level of related work experience in lieu of post-secondary education
  • Experience in program/project management and adept at balancing significant concurrent activities and projects with attention to detail and effective time management.
  • Ability to apply logical, and evaluative thinking to define problems, collect information, establish facts and determine optimal solutions

  • Excellent judgment in setting priorities, and managing time, identifying issues and problem-solving while working towards deadlines.

  • Experience in designing, planning and executing learning events, workshops, and webinars, including creative learning design and facilitation skills

  • Excellent diplomacy, political acumen and relationship management skills, with a demonstrated ability to interact with highly trained professionals and senior managers.

  • Knowledge of learning strategies, adult learning concepts, theories, principles, and techniques.
  • Awareness of evolving expectations, market trends, and best practices in learning and development.
  • Excellent research and writing skills and proven ability to develop clear and concise communication
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and as a member of the team
  • Demonstrated proficiency with Macbook based software, particularly Microsoft PowerPoint, Word, Excel, and Outlook
