Summary:

This full-time permanent role is a great training opportunity for someone with a passion for Heavy Equipment.

The Heavy Equipment Mechanic will form an integral part of contributing to operational objectives by being responsible for the servicing, repair and preventative maintenance of equipment at the Terminal.

Main Job Responsibilities including but not limited to:

  • Performing preventative maintenance on equipment to ensure continuity of operations including fueling, fluid replacement/replenishment greasing, changing tires or other minor repairs that is in accordance with the maintenance program.
  • Inspection and diagnosis of various equipment malfunctions and making required repairs.
  • Scheduling and coordinating annual inspections on equipment and tools.
  • Performing field repairs on equipment as necessary.
  • Responsible for maintaining parts inventory and all record keeping.
  • Collaborating with equipment operators in regard to assigned maintenance and repair work to ensure smooth business operations.
  • Performing all work in compliance with applicable laws, regulations and company policy while maintaining safe working conditions in adherence with occupational health and safety regulations.
  • Other mechanical repair work as required.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Valid Driver's License and access to own vehicle
  • Mechanic's or Heavy Equipment License.
  • Experience with forklift and wheel loader repair an asset.
  • Minimum 2 years experience as a Heavy Equipment Mechanic.
  • Proven mechanical abilities in gas and diesel automotive repairs.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Must be a great team player with excellent organizational and communication skills.
  • Able to work outdoors in all weather conditions.
  • Must be available for overtime and on-call work.
  • Sound computer skills; knowledge of Word, Outlook and Excel.
  • Able to pass pre-employment Criminal Background Check as well as Drug and Alcohol Test, including the detection of marijuana.
