Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and responsible School Bus Driver (Seasonal) to transport students safely to and from school and related activities. This role is crucial in ensuring the safety and well-being of children while providing a positive and supportive environment. The ideal candidate will have experience in bus driving, particularly with school-aged children, and possess excellent communication skills to interact effectively with students, parents, and school staff.

Start Date: December 28, 2025

Must be qualified to drive a 48-passenger bus

Duties

  • Safely operate a school bus on designated routes, ensuring timely arrival and departure.
  • Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the bus to ensure safety and mechanical reliability.
  • Maintain a clean and organized bus environment for students.
  • Manage student behavior during transit, implementing effective behavior management techniques.
  • Communicate clearly with students regarding rules and expectations while on the bus.
  • Assist children as needed, including those with special needs or requiring additional support.
  • Provide exceptional customer service to parents and guardians during drop-off and pick-up times.
  • Document any incidents or issues that arise during transportation.

Requirements

  • Valid commercial driver's license (CDL) with appropriate endorsements for bus driving.
  • Experience in school bus driving or paratransit services is preferred.
  • Strong communication skills in English; bilingual or multilingual candidates are encouraged to apply.
  • Experience working with children in a childcare or educational setting is highly desirable.
  • Basic mechanical knowledge to perform routine inspections and address minor issues with the bus.
  • Ability to manage behavior effectively among children of varying ages.
  • Patience, empathy, and a commitment to providing a safe environment for all students.
