Your experience in clinical management allows you to provide support to inpatient units, ensuring seamless operations during after-hours (weekdays from 11:30 p.m. – 07:30 a.m.). Scenarios where your skills may be applied include assisting units with addressing staffing challenges, supporting staff with clinical questions or scenarios, and addressing patient/family concerns.

About The Clinical Leadership Team
Hennick Bridgepoint is a 474-bed hospital, serving a diverse population. Our collaborative and supportive clinical leadership team includes 9 Clinical Managers, 2 Senior Clinical Directors, and Professional Practice Leaders. In This Role You Will

  • Work as an on-site Manager and escalation point for operational matters and support staff during scheduled after hours shifts
  • Support and mentor clinicians in critical thinking and decisions and ensure care areas are operating in accordance with the organization's policy and procedures
  • Provide support and leadership for clinical-related issues, incidents, complaints and responds to critical incidents including emergency codes
  • Act as a clinical resource for staff related practice, policies and procedures
  • Work collaboratively with clinical teams
  • Liaise with departments and services across the hospital as required (i.e. Infection Prevention and Control, Environmental Services, Food Services, Security etc.).
  • Authorize and optimize the use of staff resources including replacement and reassignment of staff, ensuring appropriate staffing levels and skill mix
  • Promote patient and family centered care approach and respond to issues identified by patients and families
  • Foster a positive culture among staff and provides support in problem solving, managing conflict and facilitating resolutions.
  • Act as a knowledgeable and supportive resource by attending to urgent and crisis situations while on site
  • Promote health and safety and infection prevention and control practices
  • Provide shift based handover to applicable stakeholders to ensure continuity
  • Communicate with Clinical Managers and Senior Directors for clinical and on-clinical issues; performance concerns, or other identified opportunities
  • Escalate serious and emergency related issues to the Senior Administrator on call

Job Requirements
Mandatory

  • Current certificate of registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario (CNO)
  • Baccalaureate Nursing Degree and Master's Degree in a health related field
  • Current and valid Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification

Preferred

  • Recent leadership experience
  • Sound nursing assessment and clinical skills

Skills and Knowledge

  • Ability to engage, collaborate and support staff in carrying out job duties
  • Demonstrates excellence in written, verbal communication, interpersonal, conflict resolution and negotiation skills
  • Highly developed critical thinking skills including the ability to problem solve, quickly analyze, and make decisions
  • Demonstrates the ability to work independently and make decisions, exercise judgement and initiative
  • Highly adaptable and flexible in an unpredictable and results orientated environment
  • Excellent time management skills and ability to coordinate several activities
  • Knowledge and proficiency with staff scheduling, labour relations and hospital operations
  • Demonstrated satisfactory work performance and attendance history
  • Ability to establish effective working relationships

Salary:
Minimum - $60.531/hour; Maximum - $75.690/hour
