Your Opportunity
Join our fast-paced and supportive Taxation Team as a Personal Tax Processing Specialist, where you'll gain invaluable experience in the world of personal tax and public practice accounting This role is ideal for individuals looking to start or advance their career in tax, offering the chance to develop practical skills during our busy tax season.
Whether you're new to the profession or have limited experience, this position offers hands-on exposure in a professional environment, with opportunities to collaborate with a dynamic team and develop your technical skills.
Your Scope:
- Validate & Review: Conduct initial validation and thorough review of personal tax documentation submitted by clients to ensure all required information is present, accurate, and in compliance with tax regulations.
- Document Management: Assist in the collection, categorization, and organization of client files, ensuring completeness and consistency. Prepare files for tax preparation while maintaining a high level of organization and efficiency.
- Tax Software Proficiency: Utilize tax preparation software such as TaxPrep and CaseWare. You'll be scanning, uploading, and managing digital files, playing a key role in creating a seamless process for our tax team.
- Client Liaison: If required, act as a liaison between clients and the tax team, responding to client inquiries related to document submission and tax filings, and ensuring follow-up on missing or incomplete information.
- Quality Assurance: Assist in performing quality control checks on processed tax files before submission, ensuring all data is entered accurately and conforms to firm policies and regulatory standards.
- Support Role: Provide administrative and operational support to senior tax specialists and accountants, contributing to process improvement during the tax season.
- Adherence to Deadlines: Work effectively in a fast-paced environment, adapting to tight deadlines and managing multiple priorities while maintaining attention to detail.
Your Qualifications:
- Office Experience: A minimum of one year in an office environment or professional setting is preferred, though we welcome enthusiastic candidates looking to start their careers in public practice.
- Tax Season Exposure: Any previous experience during personal tax season is a valuable asset that will help you hit the ground running.
- Software Familiarity: While familiarity with CaseWare and Tax Prep software is beneficial, we're open to candidates willing to learn and adapt.
- Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills are essential, along with a commitment to delivering exceptional customer service.
- Team Player: Ability to follow directions effectively, work independently, and collaborate with a dynamic team.
